To travel to Yelapa, you must first go to Puerto Vallarta, which is located on the west coast of Mexico. Once you are in Vallarta, you need to take a boat travel to Yelapa. There are no cars in Yelapa, although there is a road which leads to the outskirts of the village (1 miles away from the town). The road is used mostly for the delivery of building materials used by the community.

La única carretera es de terraseria y termina en la parte alta del cerro (1 km del pueblo) Esta carretera se utiliza mayormente para transportar material a la comunidad.
